Washington Commanders Ultimate winning over Baltimore Ravens’ preseason win streak at 24 games

Washington Commanders recap

After the first half, the Washington Commanders were up 17–14, and the intensity didn’t let up. The Ravens led 21-20 going into the fourth quarter after Anthony Brown guided his team to a touchdown on the first possession of the third quarter.

With 14 minutes remaining in the game, Brown hit on two touchdown passes to Travis Vokolek, one each in the third and fourth quarters of the second half, giving the Ravens an eight-point lead.

After Jacoby Brissett’s brief run as the Commanders’ starting quarterback for the third quarter, Jake Fromm entered the game. After a failed two-point conversion, Fromm led the Commanders on a late touchdown drive that gave them some hope. He connected with Jarrett Patterson for a spectacular 15-yard touchdown catch and run, cutting the score to two.

Amar Jackson watched the Ravens’ second preseason game while wearing street clothes, and Josh Johnson started at quarterback. He didn’t waste any time getting Baltimore into the end zone; in just 7 plays, he had reached the 26-yard line when he connected with Zay Flowers for the game’s first touchdown.

On Monday night at FedEx Field, Sam Howell gave a terrific performance that cemented his position as the starting quarterback. The quarterback in his second season is the most likely to start at center in Week 1, and following Monday night, his case has just become stronger.

Despite some outstanding performance from their quarterback, it took the Commanders until after the Two Minute Warning to reach the end zone after scoring on their first drive of the game. For a 7-yard touchdown pass to take the lead, Howell found Antonio Gibson in the backfield.

With just over a minute left in the half, Johnson and the Ravens answered in three plays, moving 75 yards down the field and taking the lead with a touchdown pass to Tylan Wallace.

Howell had exactly one minute remaining on the clock to give his team a lead going into halftime. Howell found Dymai Brown to finish his outstanding half as the starter, going 19/25 for 188 men and 2 TD, after a ten-play, 1:22 drive. Johnson might have had an even better night if he hadn’t thrown an interception that resulted in the Commanders’ first touchdown, as he went 10/12 for 145.
